Surviving the Day of the Dead

George A. Romero’s third entry in the Dead cycle wasn’t a commercial hit like its predecessors. However, time treated it well as it is now considered a classic of the horror genre with enough clout to rival its earlier siblings.

As the dead continue to walk, a group of scientists and soldiers hunker down in an underground bunker with hopes of solving the crisis. But, as things continue getting desperate, everyone starts to feel twitchy—and dangerous.

We offer up our quick reviews of Day of the Dead before getting into the analysis proper. We’re talking all about the military, zombies, gore, and the impact of Day of the Dead.
