After sailing the road to 300 all week, we’ve arrived at our destination. And to be sure, there have been icebergs along the way. But, we’re here. And with such a milestone as this, we needed a monumental movie. So, we searched the cinematic oceans far and wide and landed on one of the biggest cinematic events of all time, Titanic.
The Unsinkable Titanic
In 1997, James Cameron released a romantic period piece/disaster film that would leave a box office impact to mirror its real life material. Titanic was released in the latter part of 1997, and EVERYBODY watched it. Titanic topped the box office for 15 weeks straight, unrivaled to this day, and was the first film to ever hit $1 Billion. It’s a tale as old as time as Jack (Leo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet) cross paths, fall in love and try to survive that tragic night.
To help us celebrate the occasion, some old friends show up.
Boarding this week’s episode are:
- Alexandra Bohannon (Sound Trek, The Cinematropolis)
- Caleb Masters (The Cinematic Schematic, The Cinematropolis)
- Heath Huffman (The Praisedown)
- Kirsten Therkelson (The Frightful Femme)
We’ve got a full house to help us define good trash in relation to our show, class, gender, politics and much more on a fully loaded episode 300. We forgo our game this week to have plenty of time to crack open Titanic.
What’s that, up ahead? Looks like a return to westerns next week, we’ll see you then!
