Logging into Swimfan
Get your pagers ready, because we’re diving in to the reviled 2002 thriller, Swimfan. Star swimmer Ben has his whole world ahead of him, until a new girl shows up at school. After cheating on his girlfriend with the new girl, Ben’s world begins to unravel.
Led by two young up-and-comers, Swimfan had potential on paper. But, that potential never translates to the screen. We attempt to dig into the movie, and wind up discussing misogyny, the importance of character psychology, the film’s form, and more.
