Atomic Blondes Have More Fun
Atomic Blonde is an action packed spy thriller. It’s John le Carré by way of John Wick. MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton is brought in to retrieve a valuable piece of intel that has gone missing. But, it won’t be easy. There are contacts, rival government agencies, and double agents who all want their hands on the info. It’s hard out here in Berlin for a spy.
On this week’s episode, as we dive into the Week 3 champion Atomic Blonde, we discuss the aesthetics of the 80s and the use of nostalgia. We home in on the gaze as used in spy movies, and the queering of certain spy tropes. All that and much more comes your way in our discussion of Atomic Blonde.
