Cowboys & Aliens Analysis and Review — GTGC #304

The GoodTrash GenreCast movie analysis podcast continues riding through the west with a discussion of the Jon Favreau-directed Cowboys & Aliens from 2011.

How ‘Bout Them Cowboys & Aliens

Cowboys & Aliens is ideal fodder for the GenreCast. It’s a western sci-fi and that’s right up our alley. The premise is simple. Alien invaders attack a town. After residents are abducted, a mysterious loner must lead a posse in search of the town’s loved ones. Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde lead a stacked cast.

On this week’s show, we talk film language. We take another look at cultural representation, while Dustin tries to examine how man must remember the past to make up for misgivings. But that’s not all. Before all of that good business, we play our game. This week, we’re talking Cinematic Amnesiacs.

Now, mount up, we got a UFO to catch.
