Welcome to the chilling conclusion of Shocktober 8 from the GenreCast. This month, we’ve been taking a look at some of our biggest horror blind spots. This week, Dalton brings the train home by choosing Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer.

Drifting Away with Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer

The 1986 cult-thriller Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer draws inspiration from the real life terrors of Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Michael Rooker plays Henry as a force of nature motivated by no seemingly obvious rhyme or reason. He kills to kill and other times he lets things slide. When Otis’ sister shows up one day, she is drawn to the mysterious Henry. This tragic tale of a monster and woman who loved him is eerily realist in presentation before a shivering final hour drives it home.

This week, we’re talking serial killers, production, cinema verite, and much more. Tune in now!
