We’re getting back to our GoodTrash routes on episode 290 with a look at John Woo’s Face/Off. John Travolta and Nic Cage—what more could you ask for?
It’s a Face/Off
In this bonkers movie, Sean Archer (Travolta) is convinced to undergo a dangerous medical experiment to take on the likeness of terrorist Castor Troy (Cage). The procedure is surgical face switch that will allow Archer to go undercover. Troy gets in on the action and it turns into a true face/off. Hilarity ensues.
As we try to wrangle our feelings on this wacky movie, we talk all about Nic Cage and John Travolta. We follow our star study with a discussion of Woo’s style. The religious elements come up as Dalton highlights the Messianic themes. Finally, we look at the portrayal of women in the film before rendering a verdict.
In this week’s game, we discuss our dream Body Swap duos. But, all of that takes place following our quick Face/Off reviews.
