Welcome back dear listeners to another edition of the GenreCast movie podcast! As we enter the holiday season, its time to start reflecting back on all the cinema 2019 gave us—from blockbusters to straight-to-streaming entries. Dustin is kicking off our host blind spot selections with an obscure Nicolas Cage/Millennium Films collaboration: Kill Chain.

Following the Kill Chain

Kill Chain sees a series of hitmen and criminals taking each other out over the course of one bloody evening. Cage’s Araña becomes the focal point around the halfway mark, shifting POV to fully follow his character. Marketed as being in the vein of the classic noir style, Kill Chain uses a gimmicky approach to tell its tale.

This week, we discuss the strengths of the gimmick and dive deep into film noir and what it means to us.

Tune in to hear us talk all about the VOD thriller Kill Chain.
