Celebrating Midsommar

Ari Aster made an immediate impact on the horror community with the 2018 spookfest, Hereditary. A year later, he returned with Midsommar, a movie that reflected the other side of his previous work in many ways — mainly, a heavy focus on light and daylight in juxtaposition to the darkness of Hereditary while still exploring familial trauma and grief.

On this week’s episode, we discuss moral relativism, form and religion, grief, the misuse of the word “cult”, Aster’s approach to mental health, and much more. So, join us please, as we dive into this grief-filled heavy horror film.
