Finding Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

Sympathy tells the story of two men wronged and the inevitable convergence of their journeys. Ryu (Shin Ha-kyun) is in a tight place. His sister needs a kidney, but he isn’t a match. He tries to sell a kidney to get the money he needs, but he gets scammed. His girlfriend coerces him into kidnapping his ex-bosses daughter, enter Mr. Park (Song Kang-ho). Mr. Park and Ryu are destined to cross paths in a bloody quest for vengeance.

This week, we’re looking at the Eastern approach to revenge, class warfare, violence, and much more as we dissect Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.
