Is Andy Hunter ahead of the curve on the future of worship?

Andy Hunter, born 1974 in Leicester, England, became interested in music and sound engineering in his adolescence. Following moving to Bristol in 1992, a scene at the forefront of drum and bass, Hunter spent his time in his band, “Trip.” Finally, in 2002, Hunter released his first album under his own name, titled Exodus. Exodus earned Hunter attention from Rolling Stone magazine, and opened up new work producing music for video games, music, and television. His most notable projects (according to us) included Enter the Matrix, The Matrix Reloadedand ABC’s Alias.

Colour saw its release under Hunter in 2008. A follow-up to his second LP, Life, Colour has been commercially successful and critically well-received as well. Colour features a more restrained, commercially friendly sound than Andy Hunter’s previous work, drawing influences more heavily from synthpop, and less heavily from industrial and breakbeat sounds than Hunter has before.

Andy Hunter is not so much concerned with conveying ideas in Colour, and is with providing meditative spaces for worship to take place. Apart from select tracks such as Fade and Smile, Hunter finds himself primarily interested with facilitating an environment for worship, and not directing the worship itself.
