Storming the World with Tank Girl (1995)

Welcome back to your favorite movie podcast! This week, we’re going back to 1995 and traveling to a post-apocalyptic Australian outback to talk all about TANK GIRL. Rachel Talalay’s adaptation of the British punk comic is a bold, brazen, anarchic film that tanks along to the beat of its own drum. With a chaotic leading performance from Lori Petty, Tank Girl is a fully 90s action piece that arrived either too late or too early. With a stellar soundtrack, wonderful performances and costume design, Tank Girl is worth seeking out.

On this week’s show, Alexandra Bohannon joins us to talk about feminism, studio intervention, competing ideologies and much more. We also expand your syllabus in regards to Tank Girl and then decide if it goes on the shelf or in the trash.

Hop in your tank and tune in now!
