We’re heading down the straight and narrow into the third week of I Dream of Geena! This week, we’re taking a look at two women on the run in the startlingly prescient Thelma and Louise.
On the Road with Thelma and Louise
When caged housewife Thelma (Davis) agrees to take a weekend road trip with Louise (Sarandon), life will never be the same. The two stop at a honky tonk for a few drinks, and Thelma finds herself the victim of sexual assault, until Louise steps in to save her. After a fatal moment, the two begin driving and trying to figure out their next steps. Soon, Thelma and Louise must decide if they’re going to go home or go for freedom.
We were struck by how relevant Thelma & Louise is in 2019. Tackling some of today’s hottest topics, the film stands the test of time. We look at the themes Scott presents, his style of film making, law enforcement, and much, much more.
Buckle up, we’re going all the way!
