It’s time to party on, dear listeners. We’re continuing our Women’s Appreciation Month with Penelope Spheeris’ Wayne’s World. The comedy classic can be quoted by everyone, but does it stand the test of time? We find out!
Partying On with Wayne’s World
This week, it is a family affair as Dalton’s sister, Carissa, joins us in the studio. The two grew up loving Wayne’s World. So, it was a fitting time for a reunion. Wayne’s World is an adaptation of the Saturday Night Live sketch, with Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey. Typically, these big screen adaptations don’t work well, but does Wayne’s World make an effective transition? We try to find out.
This week, we touch heavily on the sexual politics and ideology of Wayne’s World. We also explore the opportunities for women directors and much more in this week’s show. We continue to find our grove with the new format, meaning we continue our new Expanding the Syllabus segment in lieu of game play. If you like the new format, let us know! You can also let us know if you hate it!
Now, let’s hit it!
